Care Guide

Handmade jewelry rewards a little attention. Follow these guidelines to keep your Noa pieces looking their best for years to come.

01

Sterling Silver 925

Silver tarnishes naturally when exposed to air and moisture — this is not a defect, it's chemistry. To slow tarnish, store silver in an airtight pouch or box when not wearing it.

  • Polish gently with a soft silver cloth to restore shine.
  • For deeper cleaning, soak briefly in warm water with a drop of dish soap, then rinse and pat dry.
  • Avoid contact with chlorine, perfume, and lotions — put your jewelry on last.
  • Tarnish that develops over time can be removed at any Noa studio appointment.
02

Solid Brass

Brass develops a natural patina over time — a rich, warm darkening that many wearers come to love. If you prefer a brighter finish, brass responds well to gentle polishing.

  • Use a soft cloth with a small amount of brass polish or a lemon-and-salt paste.
  • Rinse thoroughly after polishing and dry completely.
  • Brass may leave a slight green tint on skin during heavy wear — this is harmless and washes off easily.
  • Store in a dry place away from direct sunlight.

General Tips for All Pieces

  • Remove jewelry before swimming, bathing, or exercising.
  • Apply perfume and hairspray before putting on your pieces.
  • Store each piece separately to prevent scratching.
  • Avoid ultrasonic cleaners — they can loosen settings and damage finishes.
  • Bring pieces in for a free polish at the studio once or twice a year.
04

Oxidized & Hand-Finished Pieces

Some Noa pieces feature intentional oxidation — a dark patina applied to create depth and contrast. These finishes are more delicate than polished metal.

  • Clean with only a dry soft cloth — do not use silver polish or cleaning solutions.
  • Avoid submerging oxidized pieces in water.
  • Some lightening of the oxidized finish is natural with wear and adds character.
